Getting Started

Add QOTDly to your server and make sure it has the following permissions:

• View Channels
• Send Messages
• Embed Links
• Attach Files
• Read Message History

If you're planning on enabling Public Answers, QOTDly also needs:

• Create Public Threads
• Send Messages in Threads
• Manage Threads

Configure QOTDly

Once QOTDly has been added, there's only a couple of things to configure. Start by deciding where you want QOTDly to post the daily question.

Use /setup to choose the channel used for daily questions. QOTDly will then post there automatically each day.

Public Answers

Public Answers are optional and disabled by default. When enabled, QOTDly automatically creates a thread for each daily question.

You don't need to manually create or manage daily threads. QOTDly handles the entire rotation automatically.

Permissions & Security

QOTDly is designed to operate with limited permissions. It doesn't require:

• Administrator
• Manage Server
• Manage Channels
• Manage Roles
• Manage Messages

The person using /setup simply needs the appropriate server-management permission required by Discord.

Global & Server Data

QOTDly keeps personal progression global while keeping server activity specific to each community.

This means your members can participate in multiple QOTDly servers without losing their personal progression.

Troubleshooting

QOTDly isn't posting the daily question

• Is QOTDly still in the server?
• Is the configured Daily Question channel still available?
• Can QOTDly view the channel?
• Can QOTDly send messages there?
• Was the correct channel configured with /setup?

QOTDly isn't posting the answers

If Public Answers are enabled, make sure QOTDly has permission for:

• Create Public Threads
• Send Messages in Threads
• Manage Threads
